I’ve always believed I was born with a love for plants—perhaps even with a pair of pruning shears in my hand. Growing up on my grandparents’ Christmas Tree Farm, I was surrounded by the magic of nature and the joy it brought to families. One of my favorite stories, often told by my grandmother, is about the time I was a toddler and found a pair of pruning shears within reach. In my excitement, I pruned every plant as far as my little arms could stretch, leaving no leaf untouched. That moment may have gotten me in trouble, but it also revealed a passion that would define my life.

On the tree farm, I was captivated by the cycle of life and love. We’d take a branch from one of our trees, propagate it, nurture it, and eventually see a family take it home to enjoy during the holidays. Witnessing those moments of connection planted the seeds for what would later become Light and Love Family Farms.

As time passed, the Christmas Tree Farm industry faded, but my connection to plants only deepened. I missed the joy of seeing families come together, searching for the perfect tree to decorate with lights and gifts of love. Though I worked for years in the nursery industry as the “plant guy,” something was always missing. I wanted to bring back the sense of wonder and togetherness I had experienced growing up.

That’s why I created Light and Love Family Farms—a place where plants, people, and purpose come together to grow something beautiful.

Our mission

Our mission is simple: to send living love out into the world. As your plant grows, so does the love we’ve poured into it. Our hope is that you feel the presence of that light and love in your home and in your life. Here at Light n’ Love Family Farms, we truly believe that light and love will save the world—one plant at a time.

From the beginning

Every plant of ours is hand-selected for superior genetics and cared for like a child of love, grown to spread joy to others. It all starts with our soil, which we make ourselves with love and care. We compost everything from kitchen scraps and plant trimmings to overripe fruits and vegetables from local farmers—ingredients that would otherwise end up in landfills. This creates our special blend of nutrient-rich soil, the foundation of everything we grow.
